Corby Big Film Week

On 31st July 2015 the SAVOY Cinema opened a new 6 screen cinema in Corby and in October of the same year HD Media CIC put on the first ‘Corby Big Film Week’ with the aim of ‘engaging people with the art of film-making’. People seemed to like it:

“… what a fabulous week. A unique opportunity on our doorstep to encourage our budding young film makers.”

"... I visited a cinema for the first time in years, not just once but five times in all, to see the excellent films on offer … thanks. I hope you will be able to make this an annual feature of the cultural life of Corby."

HD Media CIC exists to give young people the opportunity to learn skills and disciplines that could enable them to take up a career in film, TV or webcasting. However, it is far more than just a training company - ex BBC director Paul Balmer and producer Judy Caine see it more about giving the young people a ‘You Can’ attitude to life; giving them self-belief, confidence and allowing them the freedom to dream and think outside the box.

We are delighted to present the 3rd Corby Big Film Week in October 2019 and hope eventually to make it a bi-annual event on the Corby Cultural Calendar.

If you would like to help in any way at all - volunteering, sponsorship, marshaling, have skills you feel might be of interest etc. please e-mail corbybigfilmweek@hdmediacic.co.uk Thanks.
